Abstract

This study proposes a revision (Rev.)-based BIM framework for tracing design-cost consistency in apartment interior changes, linking design objects, work items, quantities, unit prices, costs, and validation records to approved design-change revisions. The static case covered a single bedroom, including interior finishing, windows, glass, electrical work, demolition, and bathroom door/frame boundary objects, while a separate Rev.02–Rev.03 scenario illustrated a wall-finish change. Before the framework was applied, the gap between the model output and the work-item-based reference estimate was visible only as a total amount; afterwards, tracing localized it to boundary-object attribution and to rounding and dimension-basis differences in the floor, wall and ceiling quantities, and linked the applied criteria to the revision history for reuse. Costs are computed only through approved databases and deterministic functions; natural-language interpretation and automated module sequencing lie outside the present scope. The contribution is discrepancy localization and revision-based traceability rather than accuracy improvement. Validation remains a single-room proof of concept; full bathroom trades, kitchens, whole units, multiple plan types, and multiple projects were not evaluated.
